More info / About
I am applying for the position of Caregiver knowing fully well that I possess both certification and working experience to occupy this position. I am a motivated, enthusiastic patient-focused personal care attendant with knowledge of the field combined with top skills in patience and commitment. I have worked in homes for the elderly/ Seniors as a Senior Care worker, where I cared for and supported Senior service users, and PICU hospital where patients were supported physically, emotionally, psychologically, socially, and mentally. I supported people with learning disabilities, dementia, and autistic people, as well in hospitals. I am currently working in NHS in a Learning Disability ward.
I have attained a Diploma certification with distinction in Psychodynamics Psychotherapy. That has been an invaluable experience that aided my understanding of why some service users have records of incidence, and why their behavioural pattern keeps repeating itself, Psychodynamic theory views the therapeutic relationship as more important, if not more significant, than the tools and techniques that some therapists used. My study in psychodynamic psychotherapy was born out of my passion for supporting patients who have flashback challenges. I possess a Care certificate and Social and adult care, NVQ level 3 certificates.
I work hard to offer safe and effective care and strive to treat patients as individuals. I enjoy working as an individual as well as part of a well-led team. I am a member of MDT, also working in collaboration with medical professionals, by updating them with necessary patient information about their physical health, mood, mental health status, behaviour, general well-being, and their everyday supported living (EDSL). I am approachable, flexible, and adaptable to any situation at work or environmental changes. I am so committed to my role as a senior support worker to the extent that I was made documentation Champion, in one of my previous employments.
At the centre of my caregiving approach is compassion and competence. I believe it is the most fundamental quality one can possess when working closely with others. I value and treat each person as a unique individual deserving of dignity and respect, no matter their current plight, consideration, without prejudice, respecting diversity, recognizing peoples’ beliefs, preferences, and choices in working with others and delivering appropriate services. The foundation of building trust and relationships with service users, their family members, and colleagues is effective communication. The satisfaction of the people I support, joy, happiness, and their health improvements are my motivation.
As a support worker, I am taking a lead role in staff induction, mentorship, and newly employed support worker training. I have worked hard to develop essential skills in areas such as therapeutic relationships. As a key worker, I facilitate one-to-one interactive sessions with patients, which helps me to know patients better, and how best to support them to overcome their present challenges. I developed effective interpersonal relationships with service users’ families/carers and colleagues at work, as well as possessed organizational skills. In my previous employment, I received an award for the kindest staff of the year in 2023. Lastly, I am looking forward to having the opportunity to work with a passionate team that is locked arms together in pursuing the heart of helping other people.
