More info / About
I have gained a total of 6 years of experience in health care. 4 years of experience as care
worker/ Senior care worker and almost 2 years as a mental health support worker. Currently,
I am pursuing my extended Level 4/5 in Health and Social Care which I will be rounding up
October 2024.I have also studied a list of healthcare courses relevant to my job role.
I am a compassionate, dependable health and social care assistant with good knowledge of
patient care, keen to support residents with their daily living needs within a residential,
nursing home or hospital setting, a great team player and can work independently in a
residential facility or at home. I totally understand the need to report my observations to the
nurse in charge as soon as I spot it because early intervention can save lives. Confidentiality is
a major goal for me as I strive to always respect the privacy of the people I care for in every way
possible .
I have the ability to solve problems, de-escalate crisis situations, manage risk and cope with
stress. I have worked closely with all kinds of patients, for instance the ones with acute illness,
disability, mental health illness, maternity wards, dementia and diabetic patients and elderly
residents in care home and hospital settings.
I have got experience with collection of urine and faecal samples, swabs, recording of fluid
intake/output, writing medical reports, changing patient’s stomas and urine drainage bags,
catheter care, recording of pulse, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturations and
MET scoring and to advise the team nurse of any changes in a patients condition.
I have core observational skills to spot changes in patient’s health or behavior. I possess a
caring nature and genuine desire to have a positive impact in the lives of people who I care
for.I have the ability to work as a member of a team supervised and on-supervised. I am a
flexible person who can work on any shifts day and nights or even out of my comfort zone
when necessary as long as my service is beneficial to the health and wellbeing of the patients.
Over the years I have gained experience dealing with members of the public, especially
residents family members and others in my line of work.
I'm skilled in computer literacy & use of IT skills -eg email, excel, PowerPoint, word and
previous experience of using MS office packages.
I am supportive, understanding, encouraging and also have been commended for providing
dignified care by my employer.
I have good knowledge of care standards and have experience completing food preparation,
basic housekeeping, and perfect nursing and medical aide abilities in a health care setting.
I had the opportunity to work with people with learning disabilities, challenging behaviors and
end of life stages. I am caring, honest, hardworking and genuinely kind to everyone I meet. I
am personable, positive and enthusiastic with a passion for excellent customer service.
Making a difference in the lives of vulnerable or ill people is something that gives me maximum
fulfilment and I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, physical stamina and
the ability to handle the most difficult of people.
The wealth of experience I have gathered so far, I am willing to contribute to my new job.
